In recent years there has been an unprecedented increase in the number of bailiffs operating in Britain , mostly due to the governments War on Motorists, tax-farming of motorised transport and local taxation bearing little resemblance to ability to pay. Bailiffs take advantage of the public being uninformed of the statutory fees bailiffs can charge, and thus, get away with systematically and routinely defrauding innocent victims en-masse. Overcharging is theft, so if you've been defrauded (or about to be defrauded) by a bailiff in the last six years then you can do something about it.

This is a one-stop shop where you can freely find procedures and templates to help you screw the bailiff. If you need a template made to order and others can benefit from its inclusion on this site then PM us with your requirements at the MoneySavingExpert.com forums.

You can reproduce content from this site freely so long it's not for gain and you give credit where it's due. If you need help on your specific case, make a post in the bailiffs section at the MoneySavingExpert.com forums & we'll reply there. Don't post any personal info or names.

This is not a commercial site and it's free to use, no dodgy premium rate numbers but it takes time and money to set up to maintain. We anly ask that if we, or this site helps you stick one up the bailiffs then feel free to donate a share of your winnings to our Pint-down-the-Pub Foundation. More about us.

Never ...

1. Sign anything handed to you by a bailiff

2. Phone a bailiff (unless necessary, resolve 0870 & toll-numbers, NEVER call Premium rate)

3. Open the door to a bailiff - speak through a window or letterbox

4. Admit the debt - contact the creditor

5. Verify your name or DOB for 'security reasons'

Always ...

1. Take a photo of the bailiff and his vehicle if possible

2. Ask for his bailiffs certificate number

3. Ask which court certificated him

4. Ask for a full breakdown of his fees

5. Ask who the creditor is (if you dont know)

6. Get an appeal or statutory declaration lodged - it stops enforcement

7. Pay with a credit card, if not use a Debit card - avoid cash if possible

If you feel intimidated or threatend by a bailiff, call police on 999 reporting a robbery in progress with a supect on the premises.

If that advice is too late for you then heres some stuff to help you screw the bailiff!

Cheating CAG Moderator EXPOSED!

We used to advise for Consumer forums or CAG - until a moderator called Rory32 with an ego bigger than a small planet accused us of posting "commercial" links (this one) but didn't have the balls to admit making a complete screwup after realising he'd goofed. Rory32 then embarked on a relentless vendetta of banning and deleting to censor our reply to his public critisism of us, (here's a mirror - incase CAG deletes the original) after he was caught out when someone took a screen capture of the deleted post. He repeatedly used his moderator tools to save his own credibility to stop us reposting it. He even went as far as waiting on the forums for hours at a time to prevent his misdemeanour being exposed & repeatedly pinged our IP number using vBulletin. This is not a professional way for an ambassador to CAG to behave, and we're sure CAG doesn't want a clown with a power-trip messing up their site, so heres to Rory32 of CAG for winning the Prick-of-the-Week contest.

We now advise for MoneySavingExpert.com.
